GP Consultant - Minehead Medical Centre

Our newly formed Employee Owned Trust is looking to recruit a medic to work in our practice. This role will involve supervising our multidisciplinary team in a consultancy capacity on a regular basis ensuring our nurses, paramedics, pharmacists and physiotherapists get the support they need. We work from a pooled list which ensures the patients see the most appropriate clinician in the practice and no-one gets stuck running behind.

We are looking for someone with leadership skills who enjoys mentoring, supporting and developing colleagues and is comfortable multi-tasking. We are especially interested in an individual who would like to be a GP trainer.
We are a practice of 13000 patients and have recently moved from a partnership business model to an Employee Owned Trust. This allows us to capitalise on involving all of our staff in developing the practice and allows staff to take on leadership roles without the liability that goes with partnership.

Minehead is a small seaside town known as the Gateway to Exmoor and attracts a significant number of tourists, particularly to Butlins. Our nearest hospital, Musgrove Park, is 25 miles away which does mean our team have to manage a variety of acute medical and surgical conditions which keeps our pre-hospital care skills up to date.

Minehead is within easy commuter distance of Taunton, Wellington and Bridgwater and there are some fantastic cycling routes, both on and off road, as well as some stunning footpaths over Exmoor.

We offer a competitive salary and we pay for 3 sessions per day which reflects the surgery opening hours. Sessional rates vary between £170 and £190 depending on experience. We pay medical indemnity and have generous annual and study leave entitlements. There is also a funded relocation scheme available with eligibility criteria.
